Many great writers have contributed to Living Here since it first started publication in November of 2013. Some have moved on to other things, but we still appreciate their work and want to make sure it remains available to you. Becky Bridger
Becky studied Drama and Environmental Science at Queen’s University, then continued on to a Master of Arts degree at the University of Toronto. When she is not writing for Living Here Magazine, you may find her at the local community theatre either directing or performing. She also teaches, and is currently supplying for the Upper Canada District School Board. |
Russ Disotell
Russ is an experienced freelance columnist who has written on many different topics. He holds a BA in history from the University of Toronto, and later earned a certificate from the Independent Wine Education Guild based in Great Britain. Over time he served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Brockville Museum and the Museum's Expansion Fund-Raising Committee, as well as enjoying a twelve year career with the LCBO and spending the last four years he was Product Adviser in Vintages purchasing. He is a "passionate" curler, cross-country skier and golfer.

Daniel Geneau
Daniel is a first time writer who began writing for Living Here with its inaugural issue in Nov/Dec 2013. Born and raised in Brockville, he is the seventh child of Marcel and Denise Geneau. He currently lives in Lyn with his loving wife and three beautiful daughters. His interests include yard work, umpiring baseball and his family. He loves the winter holidays (if not the weather), and is hoping to see his work on various subjects printed in different publications throughout the area. |
Tanya Hammond
Growing up in the Lyndhurst area in a large family farm business, Tanya has successfully owned a variety of area businesses in the past. Now known as a local Insurance/Investment Broker with Eastern Ontario Financial Services, she satisfies her creative side by exploring topics of interest, writing and highlighting local people and events. She belongs to ECFWA (Eastern Canada Farm Writers Association) and holds certificates in both Environmental Science and Applied Nutrition.

Joe Martelle
Joe is a husband, father of three, writer and newspaper columnist whose works have won awards throughout North America. As well as contributing to several regional and national publications, he has also published a collection of short fiction and a full length novel. Phillip Melchers
Phillip is a graduate from Concordia University. Born in Tincap and now residing in Lyn, he dreams of traveling across his province, his country and later the globe. So far he has lived in St. Catharines, Ottawa, and Montreal. In the near future, he plans on venturing farther where he will continue to write about the interesting stories he collects along the way. |
Emma Taylor
Emma graduated from Print Journalism at Loyalist College, and has worked for various newspapers, publications and online news organizations. Living Here was her first opportunity to write for a magazine and she was involved with the inaugural issue. She is currently living and working on the east coast. |
Brenda Visser
Brenda is originally from Old Barns, Nova Scotia. She earned not only a BA in English and Elementary Education, but also a "Writing for Children" diploma and an "Office Administration" certificate. Married to a farmer turned preacher, she is a mother of four and has worked in many different jobs ranging from greenhouse to General Motors, classroom to hardware store. Her passions are both writing and reading, with her ultimate goal being to one day publish a book. |
Cartoons by Lawrence Murdock
Lawrence was born and raised in Ottawa, where he began drawing at a young age. His talent and passion for art opened up opportunities with CJOH, A Channel, the Tulip Festival, and other events. He made his TV debut in 2000, and continues to work toward his goal of becoming a recognized editorial cartoonist. His work with Living Here has appeared in every issue since its inauguration. |
